Directions
For cats affected or at risk of mixed parasitic infestations caused by roundworms and tapeworms of the following species:
- Roundworms (Nematodes)
- Toxocara cati (mature adult stages and immature and larval stages L3 and L4)
- Toxascaris leonina (mature adult stages and immature and L4 larval stage)
- Ancylostoma tubaeformis (adult and immature and mature larval stage L4)
- Tapeworms (Cestodes)
- Dipylidium caninum (adult)
- Taenia taeniaeformis (adult)
- Echinococcus multilocularis (adult)

Regimen:
The recommended minimum dose of 3 mg emodepside / kg bw and 12 mg praziquantel / kg bw or 0.14 ml Profender / kg body weight.

Treatment of a single administration is effective.
Mode and route of administration
Reserved for external use.
Tips for proper administration
Pipette out the package. Hold the pipette in an upright position, turn and pull the cap. Using the cap upside down to screw and the hole punching of the pipette.
Remove hair of the cat's neck at the base of the skull, to the skin. Place the tip of the pipette on the skin and squeeze firmly several times to empty the contents directly onto the skin. The application to the base of the neck will minimize the possibilities of the product by licking the cat. This product is administered on the skin only. Apply only on healthy skin.
Against-indications
Do not use in kittens under 8 weeks or weighing less than 0.5 kg.
Side effects
The product can cause salivation and vomiting in very rare cases. This follows from licking the site of application by the cat, immediately after treatment. In very rare cases after administration of Profender, transient alopecia, pruritus and / or inflammation were observed at the site of application. If you notice any serious side effects or other effects not listed in this leaflet, please inform your veterinarian.

Conditions for storage
Keep out of reach and sight of children. Store in the original package in order to protect from moisture. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the label and box.
Specific warnings
Do not swallow or administered parenterally.
Avoid the cat treaty or other household cats licking the application site until it is wet.
Given the limited experience of product use on sick or debilitated animals, this product will be used only after evaluating the risk / benefit for these animals.
Shampoo or a bath in water directly after applying the product on the skin can reduce the effectiveness of the product. Therefore, the treated cats should not be bathed until the solution has completely dried.
For the person administering the product to animals:
Do not eat, drink or smoke during application.
Avoid direct contact with the area of application as it is wet. Ensure to keep children away from treated animals during this period.
Wash hands after application.
In case of accidental contact with skin, wash immediately with soap and water.
In case of accidental eye contact, rinse eyes with water.
If skin or eye symptoms persist or in case of accidental ingestion, seek immediate advice from your doctor and show him the instructions or labeling.
Ensure that children do not have a prolonged intensive contact (eg while sleeping) with treated cats during the first 24 hours after application of treatment.
Although the drug is well tolerated by pregnant cats, studies in rats and rabbits suggest that emodepside could interfere with embryo-fetal development. Consequently, women pregnant or likely to be should avoid contacts with the product at the time of application or wear disposable gloves.
Frequent users of the product (eg vets, cat breeders) should wear disposable gloves to administer the product.
The solvent in this product may mark certain materials including leather, fabrics, plastics and varnished surfaces. Ensure that the point of application is dry before contact with one of these surfaces.
Precautions for disposal of unused product or waste materials derived from these products
Profender should not be discharged into rivers because emodepside showed adverse effects on aquatic organisms. The empty packaging and any remaining product should be disposed of following the practices governed by the rules on waste.
Additional information
Profender may be administered during pregnancy and lactation. The resistance of a parasite to a particular class of anthelmintic whatsoever may develop due to the frequent and repeated use of an anthelmintic of that class. Echinococcosis represents a hazard to humans. Echinococcosis is a notifiable disease to the OIE and the specific treatment, monitoring and protection of people are asking the authorities concerned.
