The direct release of innovative technology in the lipid layer of the skin maximizes the use of deltamethrin . In other antiparasitic collars , the release causes the diffusion by evaporation of large amounts of active ingredient around the animal . The owner can then easily come into contact with the active ingredient that evaporates from these collars .
Scalibor is water resistant
Scalibor the collar remains effective even when the animal is wet. It is thus not necessary to remove the collar when the animal is in contact with water . This is a significant advantage over other anti- parasitic collars , especially in rainy areas .
Scalibor is odorless
The Scalibor necklace is odorless , which does not create discomfort for the dog or the owner and allows the usual contacts between the two .
Scalibor is effective for five months against sandflies and 6 months against ticks and mosquitoes Culex .

Before setting up the collar , wipe with a damp cloth to remove excess powder lying on its surface.
Leave a space of about two fingers between the neck and the collar , it facilitates the movements of the animal and release of deltamethrin .
Cut the length of necklace too , leaving 5 cm after the loop.
Wash hands with soap and water after set up the necklace.
Scalibor reached its maximum efficiency after one week.
Some local skin reactions have been described. In case of local reaction , remove the collar for 48 hours. In general, the collar can be replaced without further reaction . If the reaction persists when the collar is reset , remove and treat the dog with another product.
Scalibor is water resistant . However, the use of certain shampoos removes the lipid layer of the epidermis and deltamethrin at the same time . Thus, the animal will not be protected during the week following the bath. It is therefore advisable to use shampoos that do not affect the lipid layer .
Scalibor the collar should only be used in puppies over 7 weeks.
Do not use the collar on animals with skin lesions .

Efficacy against sandfly bites
Collier Scalibor provides protection against sandflies ( Phlebotomus perniciosus ) for 6 months. Scalibor protects against leishmaniasis.

Different field studies were conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of Scalibor to prevent the transmission of canine leishmaniasis .
One of them , conducted in a highly endemic area of ??southern Italy, showed that dogs wearing the collar Scalibor reached a level of protection of 97%. At the same time , in the province of Ceará ( Brazil) , preliminary results show that Scalibor is more effective than the total elimination of seropositive dogs .
Effectiveness against ticks
Collier Scalibor is very effective against ticks for transmission of babesiosis , ehrlichiosis and Lyme disease . Deltamethrin acts at all stages of development : larva , nymph and adult. It is even effective in cases of massive infestation : infestations reproduced during testing were massive ( from 25 to 50 ticks) and repeated ( 10 consecutive infestations) .

The Scalibor necklace is available in two sizes
to adapt to the needs of each dog :
48 cm for small dogs and medium dogs with a deltamethrin content of 0.760 g .
65 cm for large dogs , with deltamethrin content of 1g .

Indications: dogs , diseases sensitive to deltamethrin parasites prevention of infestations with ticks for 6 months, preventing sandfly bites for 5 months , preventing mosquitoes ( Culex pipiens) for 6 months. Dosage, method and route of administration: external use. Adjust the collar loosely around the neck of the animal and cut off the excess length leaving 5 cm after the loop. The collar must be placed one week before the introduction of the dog infested environment . Cons -indications : in the absence of available data , do not use in puppies under 7 weeks. Special precautions for use : it is not recommended to put the collar on an animal with skin lesions . Special precautions during pregnancy or lactation : Studies in laboratory animals (rat, rabbit ) did not reveal any teratogenic effect of deltamethrin. The safety of the product in the bitch during pregnancy has not been shown. The use of specialty in the pregnant female is recommended. The necklace can be worn by lactating bitches . Overdose : In case of accidental ingestion by the dog collar , the following symptoms of poisoning may be observed: uncoordinated movements , tremors , salivation . They are reversible within 48 hours. The antidote is diazepam. Special precautions for user: Keep out of reach of children, do not let children play with the collar , wash your hands with cold water and soap after handling the collar.
