Smith et Nephew INTRASITE GEL APPLIPAK Hydrogel 10 x doses 15g
- Intrasite gel amorphous hydrogel dressing Applipak applicator bottle.
- Intrasite gel is an amorphous hydrogel which helps cleanse fast, but soft, necrotic tissue softening the plate and absorbing black necrosis and fibrin exudation. It promotes moist wound healing environment during all stages of the healing process.
- It is non-adherent and does not damage healthy tissue or skin of the wound edges. Thus, intrasite gel can be used at all stages of healing.
Features
- Hydrogel partially composed of water
- Contains propylene glycol
- Bottle patented Applipak, available in several sizes
Benefits
The composition of intrasite gel gives two properties: a moisturizing wound too dry and absorb excessive exudate, thereby creating a moist wound healing environment.
- Cleansing
Intrasite gel rehydrates necrotic tissue and, thanks to its gentle yet effective, it promotes a rapid and atraumatic debridement. - Debridement of the fibrin
Intrasite gel attracts and absorbs the debris and fibrinous exudates without damaging the newly formed granulation tissue. - Creating a wetland promotes healing
Intrasite gel increases the moisture content at the surface of the wound, thus preventing the formation of necrosis. Upon contact with the wound bed, intrasite gel facilitates the growth and migration of epidermal and dermal cells, in a moist environment promotes healing. The clinical evidence of effectiveness are numerous (see § "Clinical Support"). - Action Soft
His gentle yet effective action meets newly formed tissues, yet delicate, avoiding re-traumatization. - Nonstick
Intrasite gel is non-adherent. He was easily removed by washing the wound with saline, without injury and without pain for the patient. - Clinically proven
The clinical efficacy of intrasite has been proven in use at all stages of the healing process. - Bacteriostatic
Intrasite gel contains propylene glycol which has bacteriostatic properties. Propylene glycol also has a moisturizing and prevents the gel from drying out, which facilitates handling. - Usability
The unique system allows Applipak a simple, controlled and adjustable, even on difficult sites. - Available in different sizes
The existence of several countenances Applipak can choose the exact dose responsive.
Use
Intrasite gel is indicated for the treatment of superficial and deep wounds healing by secondary intention, such as leg ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, surgical wounds, pressure ulcers, amputations or burns; whether necrotic or fibrinous.
- Preparing the wound bed
Remove the secondary dressing.
Clean the wound bed with saline. - Prepare Applipak
Remove the orange protective cap from the applicator.
Wipe the breakable tip applicator tip and a wipe with aseptic. - Break the applicator tip
- Intrasite gel applied to the wound
Do not touch the surface of the wound with applicator tip.
Gently press the bottom of the applicator to release the gel into the wound.
Spread evenly intrasite gel on the wound surface in a layer of at least 5mm thick.
Discard unused gel. - Choose the secondary dressing depending on the stage of wound
Necrotic Wounds: OpSite Flexigrid * * - Adhesive Film Dressing
Fibrinous exudative wound: Allevyn * - Foam Dressings
Wound granulation: Allevyn *
Wound smelly: Carbonet * - active carbon absorbent dressing - Withdrawal of intrasite gel
Intrasite gel can be removed from the wound by rinsing with saline. On fibrinous and necrotic wounds, it is recommended to renew the dressing every three days at least. In budding and clean wounds, the frequency of dressing changes will depend on the evolution of the wound and the amount of exudate they produce.
Precautions
Any known sensitivity to intrasite or one of its components. Use caution near the eyes and the deep wounds to narrow opening (eg fistulas) where removal of the gel could be difficult. Do not ingest
