Smith et Nephew ACTICOAT 5 x Antimicrobial dressings 10x10cm
- Acticoat * thanks to its technology silver nanocrystals, is a unique antimicrobial barrier, which ensures fast action, a less frequent dressing changes and convenience more important than any other cream or silver sulfadiazine dressing.
- Acticoat * silver nanocrystals dressing † is an effective antimicrobial barrier. The coating with silver nanocrystals allows Acticoat to destroy a broad spectrum of pathogens in less than 30 minutes.
- Acticoat dressing is composed of three layers: an absorbent core placed between two layers of polyethylene low friction coated silver nanocrystals. The nanocrystals of silver protects the wound from bacterial contamination while the middle layer helps maintain an optimal moist environment.

- Prolonged release of money for a minimum of three days: Acticoat provides an effective antimicrobial barrier for three days due to prolonged release of silver nanocrystals.
- Fast action and sustainable vitro tests showed that Acticoat, thanks to its unique structure of silver nanocrystals SilcrystTM, eliminates pathogens tested in less than 30 minutes.
- Prevents and reduces the risk of infection: Acticoat contributes to the elimination of pathogens in the wound and reducing the risk of infection. Acticoat is also effective in reducing the bacterial load of the wound.
- Decreases local inflammation: Acticoat decreases the rate of metalloproteinases in the wound, limiting local inflammation detrimental to healing.
- Easy to use: Acticoat remains in place for three days and is not painful withdrawal as opposed to topical antibacterials commonly used, thus increasing patient comfort and caregiver.
